Job summary

St. Thomas More Academy in Middletown, MD seeks a dedicated Pre-K and Elementary classroom aide for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The role supports the lead teacher in implementing a classical Catholic curriculum, maintains a nurturing and orderly classroom, and helps students grow in virtue, knowledge, and love of God. The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who participates in liturgical life, collaborates with staff, and assists with phonics, reading, math, penmanship, and catechesis.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in an educational setting is preferred.
• Must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with Church teachings.
• Familiarity with classical education principles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
• Provide individualized or small group support to students under supervision.
• Help implement phonics, reading, math, penmanship, and catechesis lessons.
• Lead and model Catholic prayers and participation in liturgical activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized and joyful classroom environment.
• Assist with materials, record-keeping, and school events.
