Job summary

Tanknology is seeking a dedicated Field Service/Cathodic Protection Technician to travel across the region, inspecting fuel storage systems at commercial sites and using advanced testing equipment.

You will perform site assessments, install cathodic protection, and analyze data while maintaining safety and adhering to procedures. Training will be provided, with opportunities for growth in a nationwide role.

Qualifications

  • Will travel regionally to field sites across multiple states.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in industrial environments.
  • Capable of learning and using testing equipment and proprietary software.
  • Must pass DOT physicals, background checks, and drug screening.
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs and work in active field environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site inspections and technical assessments.
  • Test underground fuel storage tanks and piping systems.
  • Install and service cathodic protection equipment.
  • Record and analyze test data using company software.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and communicate findings to operations.
  • Manage inventory and supplies in the company vehicle.
  • Work independently after completing training.

What You’ll Do

Our Field Service and Cathodic Protection Technicians are the face of Tanknology in the field. You’ll work on fuel storage systems at commercial and industrial sites across the region using advanced testing equipment and proprietary technology.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing site inspections and technical assessments
  • Testing underground fuel storage tanks and piping systems
  • Installing and servicing cathodic protection equipment
  • Recording and analyzing test data using company software
  • Troubleshooting field issues and communicating findings with operations teams
  • Managing inventory and supplies in your company vehicle
  • Working independently after completing training
  • Want to start a long‑term career with growth potential
  • Enjoy traveling and working in different locations
  • Have mechanical aptitude or hands‑on experience
  • Are comfortable using basic math and technology
  • Like working independently and solving problems
  • Can communicate professionally with teammates and customers
  • Can lift up to 70 lbs and work in active field environments
  • Are safety‑focused and willing to follow technical procedures
  • Can pass DOT physicals, background checks, and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws
Helpful but Not Required

Experience in trades, construction, electrical work, industrial environments, commercial driving, or mechanical repair is a plus. Familiarity with DC voltage or Ohm’s Law is helpful, but we will train the right candidate.
