Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Cardiovascular and Bariatric Services, the Catherization Laboratory Technologist operates all Cath lab equipment and digital processing equipment. Performs all Cath lab duties such as scrub assistant, X-ray equipment operation, and digital processing. Contributes to the general operation of the department by managing supplies and maintaining an orderly work area. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles to perform procedures on and assist in the care of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. A current state-issued Radiology Technology license is required prior to employment. Specialization can be obtained in modalities such as Diagnostic Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Angiography, Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, and Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator Implantation through training and active participation.
