Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Cardiac Cath Tech to provide patient care pre, peri and post-invasive cardiac procedures under the direct supervision of a Cardiac Cath Lab RN. The role requires knowledge of radiation safety and current practice in invasive cardiology technology.

Applicants should have RCIS-related education or registry, BLS, ACLS within 1 year, and may qualify with 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• RCIS exam within 1 year of eligibility is required/preferred.
• BLS required.
• ACLS within 1 year of hire date.
• May accept a minimum of 5 years applicable experience in lieu of education or registration.

Responsibilities

• Delivers professional patient care under direct supervision of Cardiac Cath Lab RN.
• Assists in diagnostic/therapeutic procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab and related departments.
• Documents care provided in accordance with hospital policies.
• Understands medications used in the Cardiac Cath Lab and indications for use.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and responds to parameter fluctuations.
• Assumes on-call responsibilities and may provide additional hours as needed.
• Maintains hemostasis of access sites and operates Cardiac Cath Lab equipment.

Education

Registered Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist or Registered Radiology Technologist or Graduate of a program related to procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab with successful completion of RCIS exam within 1 yr of eligibility
