Overview

Cath Lab Technologist II

We have a Level III Trauma Center, the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley. St. Joseph Health is a leader in critical care and the largest provider of cardiovascular care in the region. As an integrated healthcare system, St. Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers including primary care physicians, specialists, and advanced practice clinicians. The network includes more than 30 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care, Express Clinics, and imaging and diagnostic services.

As our Cath Lab Tech II, you will operate various types of physiological monitoring equipment within the lab, scrub at tableside, and operate radiological radiographic equipment. Every day, you will be expected to demonstrate competency in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac caths, peripheral, neuro, and EP procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable in the operation of Physiological Monitoring system for diagnostic and interventional studies.
  • Accurately enter and record pertinent patient data, document events, and calculate valve areas.
  • Able to take Scrub Call independently and assist Physicians in acute MI and Stroke procedures on unstable patients.
  • Be knowledgeable of Intravascular Ultrasound theory and application.
  • Knowledgeable of Thrombectomy procedures, including preparation and deployment.
  • Participate in facilitating the operations of the Cardiac Cath Lab including transporting and transferring patients, cleaning rooms, and communicating accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Associates Degree

Required Experience:

  • CVT or RT or ACLS with experience scrubbing CCL procedures.
  • Must be able to take call and return to hospital within 30 minutes.
