Job summary

AdventHealth in Celebration, Florida is seeking a qualified cardiovascular lab professional to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures across cardiac, EP, and vascular labs. You will verify orders, administer medications, and document patient records while coordinating with physicians and the care team.

Requirements include 1+ year healthcare experience, relevant degrees, and applicable licensure/certifications.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• RN/RT/RCIS/RCES or related certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures across cardiac, EP, neuro, vascular labs.
• Verify orders and communicate with physicians.
• Administer medications and treatments per policy.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and medications.
• Maintain accurate and secure medical records.
• Assist with training of new personnel.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
• Participate in unit budgeting and cost-effective care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Must be able to perform three of the following procedures: diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, electrophysiology procedures, peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures, neuro radiologic procedures, structural heart procedures, and pediatric procedures.
• Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, and communicates with physicians as needed.
• Administers medications and performs treatments according to policy and training.
• Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and medications.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Produces accurately written and promptly completed medical records for each patient.
• Maintains authenticity and security of medical records, following prescribed processes for amending documents.
• Performs procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in therapeutic cardiac and electrophysiology laboratories.
• Takes call as rotated/assigned and responds in hospital per policy.
• Provides training for procedures within their competency and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and documents activities as needed.
• Participates in unit/service line budgeting processes to ensure a cost-effective, quality-focused environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation [Required]
• Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy [Required]
• Knowledge of Vascular anatomy [Required]
• Knowledge of Hemodynamic Monitoring [Required]
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Knowledge of complex peripheral intervention procedures, peripheral diagnostic procedures and peripheral intervention procedures [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate [Required]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• in healthcare related field

Work Experience:

• 1+ relevant healthcare experience [Required]
• 2+ years in cardiac cath/EP/neurosciences/ critical care, or interventional radiology [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
• Registered Nurse (RN) OR Registered Technologist - Radiography (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) OR Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) OR Registered Technologist - Cardiovascular Interventional (R.T.(CV)(ARRT)) OR Licensed Paramedic (PARA) OR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required]
