Qualifications

What you will do:

• Assist the physician with imaging during diagnosis and treatment of Cardiac Cath lab patients of diverse ages. Ensure quality of imaging, image acquisition, DSA, and hemodynamic monitoring. Follow radiation safety practices for patients and personnel.
• Proficiently use aseptic technique and assist the physician with scrubbing during procedures. Transport patients to and from the Cath lab. Apply manual pressure to puncture sites to obtain hemostasis post-procedure.
• Assist with technical utilization of physiologic monitoring/data devices in the Cath lab. Calibrate devices and document procedural data appropriately. Maintain physiological data after procedures.
• Set up trays for procedures using sterile technique.
• Assist with scrubbing during and after procedures.
• Prepare skin and drape patients for procedures using aseptic technique.
• Acquire supplies needed for procedures, pass to physician or assistant maintaining sterile technique, and assist in inventory control.

Requirements:

• Completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology with ARRT registry, or graduation from a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification program, or an advanced medical training degree (Associate of Science degree or equivalent in paramedic or Allied Health Profession).
• Two years of related experience required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire, from bodies such as the American Heart Association.
• Basic EKG monitoring class preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred within 6 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter training required within 3 months of hire.
