Job summary

Five Star Nursing is seeking a Cath Lab Technician to support cardiology procedures in Lafayette, IN. You will assist physicians during catheterization, angioplasty, and stent placements, manage sterile instruments, and assist with fluoroscopy imaging. Hourly pay is $66.

The role includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications under physician direction, and patient recovery monitoring. Required: ACLS, ARRT R, and BLS certifications, pending state license considered, and at least 1.5

Qualifications

• ACLS, ARRT R, and BLS certifications required.
• Pending state license accepted.
• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiological studies, and other interventional procedures.
• Handle sterile instruments, such as catheters, balloons, and stents, during the procedure, ensuring correct placement and maintaining a sterile field.
• Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests, such as angiograms, to visualize blood vessels and heart function.
• Monitor vital signs (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) during procedures and report any abnormalities to the physician.
• Administer medications under physician direction, such as sedatives or contrast dyes, ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.
• Help with patient recovery by monitoring cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and the insertion site for any signs of complications, particularly bleeding or hematoma formation.
