Job summary

A regional medical center in Maysville, Kentucky is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform patient care and ensure safety. The ideal candidate must possess an Associate's degree in Radiologic Science, be licensed as a radiation operator, and have critical thinking skills. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of patient care ensuring patient safety.
  • Formulate and revise individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team.
  • Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination.
  • Evaluate patient/family learning needs and provide education.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Position Summary:
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluation overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient and family following chain of command as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting patient's rights.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Associated of Applied Science in Radiologic Science minimum
  • Licenses: Licensed by the state as a radiation operator; Registered by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Certifications: BLS; ACLS - obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum Work Experience
  • Minimum of one year imaging experience or experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab - preferred
  • Required Skills
  • Must be able to meet requirements of departmental on call policy.
  • Required critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
