Job summary

AdventHealth Tarpon Springs is seeking an experienced RN to support Cardiology and IR procedures in a day shift role. The position focuses on crucial nursing duties, patient assessments, and adherence to care plans in a high-acuity environment.

You will participate in cath lab/IR activities, perform post-procedure care, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure safe, quality outcomes for patients and families. The facility offers day-one benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• RN with critical care experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced settings.
• Proficiency in charting and timely documentation of patient status and orders.
• Ability to participate in IR, Cath Lab or related procedural care.

Responsibilities

• Manages monthly work and call schedules for the department.
• Participates in equipment quality controls and quality improvement efforts.
• Conducts holistic assessments of patients by age and status and implements physician orders promptly.
• Sets priorities and plans actions for patient care and educates patients and families.
• Administers drugs and solutions in Cardiology and IR procedures and communicates changes to the medical team.
• Assists with Cath Lab, IR, and Non-Invasive procedures as needed.
• Provides post-procedure hemostasis and proper dressings.
• Orients new staff and ensures annual competencies.
• Maintains performance improvement data and contributes to quality metrics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Manages the monthly work and call schedules for respective departments.


• Participates in equipment quality controls and quality improvement efforts. Conducts holistic, individualized assessments of each patient in relation to age, physiological, and psychological status. Interprets, evaluates, and implements physician orders in a timely manner.


• Establishes priorities and plans appropriate actions accordingly for patient care. Addresses educational needs of patients and their families regarding procedures and post-care.


• Administers commonly used drugs and solutions in Cardiology and IR procedures. Identifies and communicates any changes in the patient's status to the appropriate medical team.


• Assists with Cath Lab, IR, and Non-Invasive procedures as needed.


• Provides post-procedure hemostasis and correctly applies post-procedure dressing.


• Orients new staff and ensures annual competencies are met.


• Ensures collection and maintenance of performance improvement data.


• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Work Experience

• 1+ years critical care experience [Required]


• 2+ years experience as an RN [Preferred]


• Prior experience in IR, Cath Lab or Critical Care experience [Required]

Licenses And Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]


• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]


• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
