Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT, seeks an experienced registered nurse to join the Invasive Cardio Lab team. You will provide nursing care for patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures, EP studies and ablations, and peripheral interventions, ensuring safety, comfort, and accurate data collection.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care, IV access, sedation, medication administration, documentation, and supporting the physician during procedures.

Qualifications

• State of CT RN license required.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.
• Minimum three years experience; cath lab and critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and provide nursing care and education to patients of all ages.
• Provides IV access, procedure-specific preparation, sedation and related medications.
• Documents patient's response to medications in medical records.
• Monitors patient response to vasoactive/cardiac meds pre/intra/post procedure.
• Assists physician during diagnostic/interventional cardiac procedures and EP studies.
• Maintains a safe sterile environment throughout all procedure phases.
• Follows ACLS protocol and manages complications if they occur.
• Performs pre-procedure education and verifies informed consent.
• Interacts with physicians regarding contrast/renal prophylaxis as needed.
• Assists in training new staff and supports cath lab team.
• Participates in on-call emergent procedures.
