Job summary

At SCA Health, a part of Optum, we seek a Registered Nurse for the Cath Lab to provide direct patient care and ensure safe aseptic techniques. The role supports CVL procedures and recovery, with emphasis on accurate documentation and teamwork in a high-stakes environment.

Qualified candidates have a nursing degree, current RN license, BLS, and ideally ACLS within 90 days. Cath lab and critical care experience are highly valued, with strong communication and technical skills essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current State Licensure as a Registered Nurse and current BLS; ACLS preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to ensure the safety of the patient.
• Directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic & sterile techniques and procedures.
• To perform various tasks as a CVL circulator and recovery RN.
• Assumes responsibility that the Cath Lab is prepared room for the patient and procedure.
• Assist in transporting patient to Cath lab and checks patient record for appropriate pre-op preparation and procedures.
• Verifies that appropriate surgical prep is completed.
• Completes documentation for CVL records, and patient chart including medications and physician orders.
• Supervises and assists with the proper, safe positioning of the patient.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts and documentation.
• Secures emergency equipment and supplies as needed.
• Provides assistance to teammates, physicians, and patient families and when applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Good communication skills that promote safe patient care.
