Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a registered nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab to provide nursing care during cardiac catheterization procedures, including instrumentation handling, medication administration, and hemodynamic monitoring.

The role requires PA RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and the ability to prepare patients, obtain consent, and verify history. The nurse will assist physicians, maintain sterility, document thoroughly, and participate in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• BLS and ACLS Certification.
• Certification in area of specialty is preferred; RCIS encouraged within five years.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care during cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Prepares patients, obtains informed consent, and verifies allergies and medical history.
• Administers Moderate Sedation and vasoactive medications as directed.
• Maintains sterile field and assists cardiologist during procedures.
• Documents procedures for regulatory, billing, and image archival purposes.
• Trains/mentors staff and ensures inventory of supplies.
