Base Pay Range

$58.00/hr – $65.00/hr

Short Summary

The Cardiac Catheterization Radiology Technologist delivers patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory under the direction and supervision of the Manager and Medical Director. Functions as a cardiovascular radiological technologist for adult and geriatric patients. Promotes quality care for patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral procedures. Develops various types of film. Records and analyzes hemodynamic waveform tracings. Prepares the lab for procedures. Maintains quality control of equipment and procedures. Reports functional deficiencies. Work schedule: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.

Job Requirements

• Operates all radiographic equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, including digital acquisition equipment.
• Identifies and solves problems with equipment and uses available resources.
• Assists Cardiologist with invasive procedures, including scrubbing, equipment utilization, and hemodynamic computation.
• Supports professional development of unit staff through orientation and educational activities.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
• Acts as Radiology safety person for the lab – changes film badges every two weeks.
• Monitors film badge usage and reinforces radiation safety for all personnel.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
• Current license in the State of Illinois for Nuclear Safety.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS Health Care Provider certification.
• Experience in Intra-aortic Balloon Counterpulsation (preferred).
• Knowledge of basic life threatening arrhythmias (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (preferred).
