Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles seeks a Cath Lab Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional procedures using digital cine radiography, with hemodynamic monitoring and scrub duties. You will rotate across Cardiology sub-specialties and may float to other UCLA Cath Lab locations, including Ronald Reagan and Santa Monica.

The role requires ARRT certification, CRT license and fluoroscopic permit, plus BCLS/ACLS/PALS. On-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time are included.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification and CRT license/permit required.
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certificates required.
• Graduate of Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
• Ability to adapt to advancing technology.
• Understand EMTALA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and pulmonary angiographic procedures.
• Operate digital cine radiographic equipment and provide hemodynamic monitoring and scrub assistance.
• Perform digital cine acquisition and analyze LV wall motion and coronary anatomy.
• Rotate within Interventional Cardiology, including Pediatric/Cath, Adult/Cath, Peripheral Vascular and EP.
• Respond to on-call requirements with 30-minute response time.
• May float to UCLA Cath Lab locations including Ronald Reagan, Santa Monica & West Valley.

In this key role, you will assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and pulmonary angiographic procedures. This will include operating digital cine radiographic equipment, as well as providing hemodynamic monitoring and scrub assistance on diagnostic and interventional procedures.

The Cath Lab Technologist will assist with digital cine acquisition. You will perform digital analysis of LV wall motion, coronary artery sizing and stenosis. You'll be responsible for panning, collimation and filtering. You will rotate within Interventional Cardiology to include Pediatric Cath, Adult Cath, Peripheral Vascular and Electrophysiology. The position Includes on-call responsibilities with the expectation of a 30 minute response time.

Salary Range: $62.30 - $82.19/Hourly

• CRT Fluoroscopic permit – required
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross– required
• Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program graduate
• Ability to adapt to advancement and changing technology
• Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams. (Radiology Only)
• Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patients
• Demonstrate knowledge of clinical billing (IDX codes) to ensure appropriate accounting and reimbursement of services rendered
• Knowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
• Skill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functions
• Telephone manners and skills to handle heavy telephone lines with courtesy and tact
• Understand the requirements of the EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act).
