Job summary

Advocate Health Floyd Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide specialized radiography and fluoroscopy for interventional procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The role includes patient prep, medication handling, and coordinating with staff to ensure patient safety and accurate reporting.

Requirements include ARRT certification or RCIS, BLS, and 1 year in diagnostic plus 1 year in interventional radiology preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology program or RCIS from a Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program
• ARRT certification in Radiology or RCIS registry
• BLS required
• 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
• Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
• Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.
• Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
• Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
• Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
