Job summary

Sodexo at Kings College Taunton is seeking a Catering Supervisor to lead dining services in a prestigious campus setting. The role covers health and safety, service quality, and team leadership across service, wash-up and cleaning.

You will supervise operations, ensure smooth service flow, maintain hygiene standards, handle customer feedback, and help deliver exceptional dining experiences. The position requires strong leadership, organisation, and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health & safety, food safety, COSHH, and Safe Systems of Work compliance while overseeing quality and service standards.
• Oversee daily operations, lead and delegate across service, wash-up and cleaning teams for efficiency.
• Deliver and support excellent customer service during peak periods and maintain a professional environment.
• Manage service flow, ensuring stock levels, replenished counters, and timely openings/closings.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food safety, COSHH and Safe Systems of Work while overseeing food quality and service standards.
• Supervise daily operations, leading, motivating and delegating tasks across service, wash-up and cleaning teams to ensure efficiency.
• Deliver and support excellent customer service, stepping in during peak periods and maintaining a friendly, professional environment.
• Manage service flow, ensuring areas are well-stocked, counters replenished, and service opens and closes on time.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation, including overseeing cleaning rotas and deep cleans.
• Handle customer feedback and service issues, resolving promptly and escalating where needed
• Monitor equipment and food safety, reporting faults, removing unsafe items and ensuring a safe working environment.
