Job summary

The Kings School, Chester, in partnership with Sodexo, is seeking a Catering Supervisor to oversee daily catering operations on site. You will mentor the catering team, ensure superb service, and maintain strict hygiene standards during term-time and events.

Flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends is required, with full training provided and a uniform supplied. This role places you at the heart of school life and hospitality in a prestigious setting.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience in hospitality, catering or events.
• Is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
• Can lead, motivate and support a team during busy service periods.
• Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities.
• Has a good understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety.
• Is flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of school events.
• Experience within an education or independent school environment and a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate would be advantageous but are not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the General Catering Manager and Head Chef to ensure smooth running of daily services and events.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, allergen management and cleanliness.
• Deliver a warm, welcoming hospitality experience for pupils, staff, visitors and guests.
• Support the planning and delivery of school functions, conferences and hospitality events.
• Promote teamwork, provide on-job training and encourage continuous improvement across the catering team.
