Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is hiring a Salaried Sous Chef for Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. The role oversees catering and concessions production, ordering, cooking, and presenting food per recipes, with coordination of daily/weekly production meetings.

You will manage a small FOH/BOH team, contribute to expanding the catering department, ensure compliance standards, and support the Campus Executive Chef as needed.

Qualifications

• Culinary/kitchen management experience
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience
• Institutional and batch cooking experience
• Knowledge of food and catering trends
• Must be experienced with computers
• ServSafe® certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with cost controls and expenditures
• Assist with planning and creating menus
• Produce and execute catering events
• Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams
• Foster client relationships to align programs with objectives
• Perform other duties to support dining service operations
