Job Summary

We are hiring a Catering Sales Manager who enjoys selling and planning catering events. Previous Marriott experience is beneficial for this role.

Responsibilities
  1. Sell and detail social and corporate catering events with and without guest rooms for the hotel.
  2. Negotiate with clients and handle all arrangements, suggesting menus, bar set up, and room arrangements as per policy and procedure.
  3. Daily solicitation for new business and contract negotiation.
  4. Coordinate local marketing efforts and maintain communication with hotel staff to ensure high service levels for events.
  5. Keep accurate communication flowing among all hotel departments.
  6. Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  7. Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
  8. Train and supervise other associates as directed by management.
  9. Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures.
  10. Identify operational challenges and determine solutions with property staff and customers.
  11. Solicit future business from current and past customers.
  12. Maintain records on cancellations and turndown reports, analyzing these reports quarterly.
  13. Provide site tours to potential customers of the hotel’s banquet facilities.
  14. Facilitate various meetings as necessary (e.g., Banquet Event order meeting, room block review).
Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years catering sales, or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales or Culinary Arts; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments.
