Job Summary

The Catering Operations Manager is responsible for the successful execution and coordination of on and off-premise company events. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask across various projects. The manager must effectively distribute pertinent information internally and externally, demonstrating excellent client presentation and marketing skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Consult with clients on scope, expectations, setting, menu, entertainment, and budget to ensure successful events.
2. Plan menus in collaboration with clients and chefs.
3. Negotiate vendor contracts.
4. Delegate tasks to and ensure the Event Manager coordinates and executes events within established parameters.
5. Recruit, interview, select, and train staff.
6. Organize, lead, and motivate the catering team.
7. Plan staff and event schedules.
8. Maintain accurate financial and administrative records.
9. Coordinate with Sales Catering Managers, chefs, staff, vendors, rental companies, and clients.
10. Assess contracts and ensure service satisfaction.
11. Perform final reviews of catering events to ensure standards are met.
12. Resolve customer concerns and ensure timely payments.

1. Operationally savvy industry professional with leadership experience in managing people, events, and guest experiences.
2. Strong organizational, time management, and team motivation skills.
3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
5. Experience in budgeting, P&L, labor, and sales forecasting.
6. Discretion and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent negotiation skills.
8. Credibility with culinary professionals.
9. Human Resources experience including hiring, training, and mentoring.
10. 3-5 years of hospitality management experience, preferably in off-premise catering.
11. Ability to focus on client service, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
