Job summary

Flik Hospitality Group is seeking a Catering & Banquet Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day event execution, staffing, and adherence to BEO specifications and brand standards. You will lead Captains, Servers, and Bartenders across concurrent events, partnering with culinary leadership and support teams for seamless service.

The role reports to the Catering Director and requires strong organizational and leadership skills to manage labor costs, schedule staff, and ensure exceptional guest

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in catering, banquet, conference center, hotel, stadium, or high-volume hospitality operations.
• Pre-existing banquet operations or large-scale catering leadership experience.
• Ability to lead teams while managing multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and team leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Independent work ability with sound judgment and decision-making.
• Experience managing labor, payroll, budgets, productivity, and operational performance.
• Effective problem-solving skills and composure under pressure.
• Strong partnership skills with culinary leadership and operational support teams.
• Human Resources experience: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, performance management.
• Three to five years of progressive hospitality management experience, preferably within banquet operations, conference centers, hotels, or high-volume catering environments.
• Passion for operational excellence, team development, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily execution of all catered events, ensuring exceptional service from setup through breakdown.
• Manage Banquet Event Orders, coordinating Front of House and Back of House teams to meet event specifications.
• Conduct pre-event inspections to verify room setup, equipment, signage, décor, and readiness.
• Prepare signage and operational materials for every event.
• Serve as Manager on Duty during events, directing service teams and resolving issues in real time.
• Develop staffing plans, create schedules, approve payroll, and manage labor costs to meet financial goals.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, coach, and develop front-of-house team members.
• Coordinate with the culinary team on food production, timing, staffing, and service execution.
• Partner with conference services, facilities, audiovisual, security, and other support teams for seamless execution.
• Maintain high standards of hospitality, food safety, sanitation, and operational excellence.
• Conduct post-event reviews to identify improvement opportunities and maintain quality standards.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
• Assist with departmental budgeting, labor management, inventory coordination, and other initiatives as assigned.
• Demonstrate knowledge of banquet bar operations, bartender management, beverage service, and responsible alcohol service.
