The Catering Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of a dynamic, seven-day-a-week catering program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. This role oversees all aspects of catering services, including staff training, event logistics, and ensuring high-quality service for campus facilities and student events. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with catering expertise and a flexible schedule to support events of varying scale. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all catering events and daily operations.
Oversee event logistics, quality control, sanitation, and facility coordination.
Collaborate with the Chef to develop and update menus.
Train catering staff in service protocols, presentation standards, and customer service excellence.
Manage event budgets, including tracking labor and food costs.
Maintain strong communication with clients, staff, and management to ensure smooth execution and high client satisfaction.
Support all foodservice activities and uphold company standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of food service experience, with at least 1 year in a management role.
Proven experience in catering operations; background in hospitality, education, healthcare, or related fields preferred.
Strong understanding of food trends, sanitation practices, cost control, and presentation standards.
Financial and budgeting skills with basic accounting knowledge.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications.
ServSafe Certification required.
Flexible schedule required to support a 7-day operational environment.
