Are you an experienced Catering Manager with a passion for catering and working with the public? Perkins Management Service Company is seeking a high-energy, experienced Catering Manager to oversee the catering department at our client site, Johnson C. Smith.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in catering, presentation, and exceptional customer service. The Catering Manager is responsible for supervising and supporting the planning of catering events of various sizes, ensuring all Perkins higher education catering brand standards and initiatives are consistently met.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing and executing all catering events, with knowledge in casual and fine dining, banquet management, and culinary skills. Experience in high-volume activity, employee/staff training, labor management, and control systems is a plus.

Develop and maintain a safety culture that fosters a work environment where no one gets hurt. Directly supervise catering operations, including staff coordination, rental equipment, setup, preparation, service, and breakdown of catered foods, beverages, and events.

1. Assist with booking events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed.
2. Responsible for hiring, discipline, performance reviews, and pay increases of employees.
3. Coordinate activities with internal departments, participate in management meetings, and interface with vendors and key clients.
4. Represent Perkins and the client at meetings and events, ensuring excellent customer service and professionalism.
5. Ensure sanitation, organization, and safety standards through checklists, supervision, and follow-up.
6. Prepare banquet rooms for functions.
7. Serve meals and beverages according to catering protocols.
8. Properly set tables for special functions.
9. Load and unload event equipment, following truck safety procedures.
10. Maintain storage rooms and supplies in an orderly fashion.
11. Maintain equipment and catering supplies.
12. Participate in and help develop catering training programs for staff and students.

Minimum of 3+ years of catering experience required.
