Job description

Overview

The Catering Manager provides support and assistance with Catering activities, as well as assisting concession managers in the profitable management of concessions operations. The Catering Manager will independently initiate and authorize employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfer. They will actively manage employee relations to ensure a positive, compliant, and cooperative work environment.

The Catering Manager oversees and resolves employee performance issues, provides high-level event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational support to ensure smooth event execution. A key responsibility is mentoring, training, and helping employees and volunteers meet quality standards. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available for a variable, event-driven schedule including evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, interpersonal skills, self-direction, and technical aptitude are required.

This role offers an annual salary of $43,888.00-$46,000.00.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing Catering and Concessions operations effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all alcohol service policies.
  • Monitor alcohol service during events to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Report any alcohol-related issues immediately.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, direction, and mentoring to hourly staff.
  • Monitor product quality and guest service levels.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with Point of Sale Systems, hardware and software.
  • Assist with vault opening, closing, and balancing as needed.
  • Generate employee schedules and verify timesheets.
  • Support training, development, and supervision of hourly employees, documenting performance and attendance issues per company policy.
  • Manage catered events from setup to teardown, communicating with staff, culinary teams, and guests.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
  • 3-5 years of experience in catering or concessions.
  • Concessions Manager Certificate from the National Association of Concessionaires.
  • Certification in advanced food service sanitation.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and menu planning.
  • Basic computer skills: email, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+.
  • Experience with Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
  • Cash handling skills and basic math abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
