Job summary

oganhospitality is seeking a Catering Lead Event Cook (part-time) to manage on-site catering operations for events from 10 to 7,000 guests. You will lead kitchen staff, follow prep lists, and ensure recipes meet company standards with a focus on quality and safety.

This role requires 2+ years as a cook in catering, strong leadership, and reliable transportation to event sites. Competitive hourly rates and shift flexibility are offered.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Cook in a catering setting.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Capable of delegating multiple tasks.
  • Communication and leadership skills.
  • Keep up with cooking best practices.
  • Keep up with current culinary trends.
  • Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to manage a timeline for an event from start to finish ensuring proper execution of menu chosen by the clients.
  • Work with front of house managers to stay on track, execute special requests and go with the flow!
  • Assist in the planning and execution of catered events ranging in 10-7,000 people.
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise.
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards.

Catering Lead Event Cook (part-time)
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Follow prep lists in a quick, efficient, and accurate manner
  • Label and stock ingredients on shelves so they are easily accessible to teammates
  • Follow recipes and prepare food according to company standards
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
  • Maintain clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
  • Complete your event pack out for your assigned event.
  • Check out each component of your event’s menu with the FOH event manager
  • Take instruction and assist with load in and load out duties.
  • Properly pack ingredients/ menu items to ensure proper delivery to event.
  • Complete any and all “on-premises” cooking, finishing, plating, and garnishing.
  • Maintain all health and safety standards for personnel and safe food service.
  • Be able to manage a timeline for an event from start to finish ensuring proper execution of menu chosen by the clients.
  • Work with front of house managers to stay on track, execute special requests and go with the flow!
  • Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
  • Assist in the planning and execution of catered events ranging in 10-7,000 people
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Follow catering recipes and prepare food according to company standards
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
