Job Summary: The Catering Kitchen Manager is a supervisory role responsible for ensuring high-quality production and execution of all catered events. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing meals for parties ranging from 10 to 300 guests, maintaining the quality and consistency that Trails End Catering is known for.
  2. Creating and updating recipes.
  3. Training incoming Prep Cooks and dish machine operators.
  4. Maintaining kitchen sanitation and cleanliness standards.
  5. Creating, quality-controlling, and executing BOH packing and prep lists with accuracy.
  6. Effectively communicating with the FOH leadership team.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Active and valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and current insurance.
  2. Experience driving a box truck and large transport van.
  3. Food Handler's Permit (must be obtained within 30 days).
  4. ServSafe Certification (may be obtained after hiring).
  5. Strong interpersonal conflict resolution skills.
  6. 2 years experience in a leadership position supervising at least two subordinates.
  7. 2 years experience in food production.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel.

Preferred:

  1. Experience in catered events, including weddings, receptions, and large-scale office and private parties.
  2. Proficiency in R365 and Toast web applications.
  3. Serving, Customer Service, Retail experience.
  4. MAST Certificate.

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong leadership skills that remain consistent in high-stress environments, a thorough understanding of how to train and motivate subordinates while maintaining company standards and high morale, and a genuine interest in providing an exceptional experience for our guests. Hours for this position vary, with overtime offered semi-regularly during peak seasons (Spring and Summer) and mostly part-time during off-peak seasons (Fall and Winter, excluding holidays), with supplemental hours in the restaurant available throughout the year.
