About The Role:

Working Days: Predominantly Monday to Friday. Duty manager roster is required with weekend and out of hours on call. This is rostered annually and fulfilled by all service management.

Join us as a key leader in delivering high-quality catering services within a Total FM contract at Ipswich Hospital. This role oversees both retail and patient dining services, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, and the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021.

You’ll be responsible for:

  1. Driving quality assurance and internal auditing processes
  2. Leading service development initiatives to enhance productivity and satisfaction
  3. Managing staff performance, HR processes, and Timegate systems
  4. Overseeing budgetary control and KPI reporting
  5. Acting as the professional lead for all catering operations on site

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide an overarching strategy to effective quality assurance within Catering. Ensure OCS are compliant with legislation and operating within SOPs.
  2. Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained through compliance with all company health & safety policies and procedures
  3. Ensure appropriate staff/operative levels are in line with contract specifications
  4. Maintain visibility on the shop floor, driving a professional image through praise and addressing uniform, behaviors, and quality standards
  5. Support the management of Timegate processes and ensure CCFs are maintained in line with leavers, starters, and business demands.
  6. Ensure accurate workforce scheduling and data management for operational efficiency and cost control.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent
  • Dietetics or Nutritional Qualifications or significant experience demonstrated
  • Food Safety Level 3 and willingness to work towards level 4
  • Management/professional qualification or significant experience at a senior level in Catering Management
  • Experience of working in a busy retail or TFM environment & ability to be flexible in working times to meet business needs. Working 5 over 7 days with flexible patterns.
  • Technical knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Management systems
  • Experience in delivering national standards for healthcare food and drink
  • Direct line management experience of large-scale multi-site/service operations with a diverse workforce of 150+ personnel
  • Extensive experience within the NHS or health-related field
