Job summary

Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Catering & Event Manager to lead event service and guest experience for high-profile venues. You will motivate and train teams, manage budgets, and ensure culinary and hospitality excellence across events and daily catering orders.

The role reports to the General Manager and requires strong communication, hospitality, and planning skills to collaborate with partners, culinary, procurement, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of similar work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive mindset and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong passion for food and hospitality.
• Effective time management and meeting deadlines.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Union environment experience is a plus.

Role Summary: The Catering & Event Manager is responsible for the service and experience of the event. Motivates, trains, develops and directs team members to deliver exceptional service and accomplish daily goals and catering events. This position oversees the execution of event and operational tasks, including culinary and hospitality excellence, employee and food safety. Adheres to event budget guidelines.

The Catering & Event Manager will focus on hospitality and the event experience for the Food program in order to support operational excellence. This position reports into the General Manager and will leverage their strong communication, hospitality and event planning skills to partner with key stakeholders (our partner, culinary, marketing, event concept development, procurement, risk management, operations and people approach) to promote Food Program expectations and enhance user (guest) experience.

Trains, develops and schedules catering associates and is actively involved in the development of existing associates in service techniques, menu presentation, merchandising, policies and procedures

Conducts all employee reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions in a professional and timely manner

Ensures all sector and Compass employee guidelines are implemented and adhered to

Promotes a culture of Food and Workplace Safety

Treats everyone with professionalism, care and respect.

Responds to all feedback in a timely manner

Communicates with our Partner honestly, accurately and in a timely manner.

Meets all timelines for quarter and year-end reports given by our Partner and Sector Employer

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Has a minimum of 3-5 years similar work experience

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Proactive mindset and able to remain calm under pressure to anticipate and support changes in our business

Strong passion for great food and hospitality

Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines

Creates a culture of food and workplace safety

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to work independently as well as in a team

• Experience in a Union environment a plus

Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
