Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Catering Coordinator performs the appropriate steps of service associated with a catered meal dependent upon the style of the event (plated, buffet, reception) on an as needed basis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Delivers excellent customer service at all times and communicates in a professional and courteous manner with guests, hospital staff, and coworkers.
  • Ability to interpret catering BEOs, gather and set up appropriate equipment for multiple events at one time.
  • Performs the appropriate steps of service associated with a catered meal dependent upon the style of the event (plated, buffet, reception).
  • Maintains appropriate sanitation levels in the work area in compliance with the food code (proper labeling, FIFO, and hand washing).
  • Completes side work at the beginning and end of shift as assigned including but not limited to cleaning duties, food prep, and stocking.
  • Works as a team member to provide the most efficient service to guests.
  • Maintains a calm and professional demeanor during periods of high volume to promote a positive guest experience and stable working environment.
  • This is a PRN position.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in hospitality or other related field.
