Compass Group USA's Flik Hospitality division is seeking a Catering Coordinator to manage sales/marketing, administration and coordination for on- and off-premises catering events. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication, with the ability to multitask across projects and coordinate with clients and vendors.

• Conduct daily walk-throughs of the Conference Center for cleanliness and readiness.
• Ensure conference room equipment is operational (phones, copiers, PC).
• Refresh rooms with standard props and respond to client agendas during breaks.
• Direct clients to meeting rooms and assist with furniture requests as needed.
• Work a flexible daily schedule, including weekends when required.
• Maintain strong customer service and be a strong team player.

Job Summary

As a Catering Coordinator, you will hold duties related to sales/marketing, administration, and coordination for on and off premise catering events. The position entails a need for excellent attention to detail and communication skills; ability to multi-task on a variety of projects simultaneously, accurate distribution of pertinent information both internally to all departments as well as to clients and related vendors.

Overall Job Responsibilities:

• Will interact as team players, take initiative, and remain alert for imaginative approaches to day-to-day tasks
• Will respond positively to Managers/Supervisors on direct requests as required
• Will maintain a professional appearance and grooming standard as indicated in the company employee handbook
• As business dictates, Associates will be flexible with regard to working during lunch breaks, after business hours and on weekends;
• Associates should be ready for business and settled 10 minutes before start of shift; mandatory morning walk through sessions should take place before the official start of each day

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Responsible for setting and breaking down meeting rooms based on client requirements
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., and possess strong organizational and communication skills
• Must be detail oriented, and maintain an accurate furniture inventory, highlighting inventory requirements to Managers and Planners
• Perform daily walk through of entire Conference Center to ensure space is well maintained, organized and clean before and after each event; check rooms against work orders for accuracy on a daily basis
• Highlight issues to Managers and Planners - furniture repairs, etc.
• Ensure that each conference room is equipped with all standard supplies
• Check Conference Center equipment frequently to make certain all is operational at all times (phones, copiers, pc, etc.)
• Set each room with standard prop set (pad, pen, water, candy) each evening, and refresh rooms as required throughout the day
• Follow direction of Manager and Conference Planners regarding client agendas, refreshing conference room during breaks
• Direct clients to appropriate meeting rooms as required
• Assist client with furniture requests before and during meeting if necessary
• Work a flexible daily schedule, including weekends depending on business demands
• Remain accommodating to all clients during a rapidly changing environment
• Focus on maintaining strong customer service skills
• Must be strong team player

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in dining, catering and/or events.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule as the business demands.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Marketing is preferred.
