Job summary

Restaurant Associates is hiring a Full time Catering Captain for an on-site role at Morgan Stanley in New York, NY. The position supports event catering operations, coordinates staff, and ensures timely service for scheduled functions.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, preparing and serving food, and possibly delivering meals. A valid driver’s license and food handler/alcohol server permits may be required by state law. Pay ranges from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience is required.
• A valid driver's license may be required.
• Must possess or able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure functions are delivered, served and cleared in a timely fashion.
• Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under supervision.
• May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.
• Determines workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meets with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements; addresses changes and resolves problems.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates understanding of menu items and instructs staff on work expectations.
• Helps staff set up rooms to desired specifications and delivers food and supplies.
