The Catering Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction during all dining events, with a focus on catering. Under the supervision of the Team Leader and/or Director of Dining Services, the Catering Attendant ensures quality service at all times.
- Assist with table-top setup and breakdown of catering equipment and stations.
- Assist with food preparation and plating.
- Serve food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, to guests.
- Monitor and replenish food and beverage stations.
- Ensure all work and service areas are clean and sanitized.
- Follow safe food handling practices and procedures.
- Attend to special requests and dietary restrictions.
- Work independently and collaboratively to ensure smooth event operations.
- Assist in training new service team members, under the direction of the Team Leader.
- In full-time roles, perform duties of bunner, cashier, hostess, and/or server as needed.
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for residents, staff, and self.
- Understand fire safety procedures and assist with resident evacuation during emergencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ personal and medical information.
- Collaborate with staff from other departments as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Capable of standing and walking for 4-8 hour shifts.
- Ability to carry and balance a 10-15 pound tray.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping and bending.
- Good vision and hearing, or use of prosthetics to support these senses.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, and beverage machines.

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Good communication skills and sound mental and physical health.
- Ability to work well with others, demonstrating flexibility, patience, and sensitivity, especially towards older adults.
