A Catering Associate plays an integral role in the success of our catering, wholesale, specialty events, PR, holiday, and shipping efforts at Breads Bakery. As a member of our catering department, you will communicate and collaborate with all departments and Breads Bakery locations and lend a hand in the continued growth of the bakery.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Assist the Catering Manager and Supervisors in effectively and positively executing catering department functions. Maintain guest service standards and activity in their absence and assist in administrative and practical tasks daily.
- Recognize the importance of providing extraordinary hospitality and exemplify this in interactions with guests, VIPs, vendors, and coworkers alike. Govern service recovery as needed with professionalism and sincerity and provide seamless, on-the-spot troubleshooting when needed.
- Perform daily administrative tasks, including but not limited to fielding guest calls, managing email correspondence, completing production checks, creating orders and assisting with hands-on prep tasks.
- Communicate with all departments, bakery locations, and personnel (internal and external) to ensure proper product and order quality are maintained for catering, wholesale, and in-store orders- recognizing that every day presents varying needs and adjusting numbers accordingly.
- Utilize knowledge of the Breads Bakery catering and shop menus to offer thoughtful suggestions to wholesale and catering clients.
- Assist with packing and quality checking catering, wholesale, Goldbelly, PR, and holiday orders, ensuring all items are properly packaged, labeled, dated (if applicable), and distributed on time. Support the logistics department with packing cakes, cookies, and holiday items as needed.
- Support our team in the coordination and execution of on and off-premise events.
- Assist and adapting to any system transitions and/or updates in SOPs.
Skills & Requirements:
- Professional experience in hospitality, catering, events or relevant role
- Background in hospitality and/or the food & beverage industry, preferred but not required
- Commitment to providing exceptional service and genuine experiences
- Remarkable communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving aptitude, and ability to multitask
- Experience with G-Suite, Microsoft Office and Apple products
- Ability to work holidays and weekends
- Ability to work on your feet for a full shift and lift 50+ lbs throughout the shift
Compensation & Schedule
- $18-$20/hour + tips
- Full-time position (typically 30+ hours per week)
