Job description

Responsible for patient meal service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery and pickup, and handling special requests. Communicates patient food issues and needs to Food & Nutrition Services and collaborates with nursing regarding patient nutrition requirements. Assists dietitians with monitoring patients on NPO, liquid diets, or requiring intake recording. Reacts accurately to changes to ensure timely service and correct diet modifications. Familiar with dietary restrictions for special diets to meet patient preferences within guidelines. Ensures quality service reflected in patient satisfaction surveys.
