Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a Catering Associate to support patient food service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray delivery and pick-up, and in-between meal deliveries.

You will collaborate with the clinical dietitian to address dietary needs, accommodate restrictions, and respond to patient requests while working closely with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• 1-2 years in foodservice or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Refers patient questions or concerns to the clinical dietitian as appropriate. Collaborates with dietitian to provide nutrition care as requested.
• Obtains information regarding new admissions, transfers and discharges and diet changes. Provides late trays, special requests as needed. Communicates any patient issues to nurse or managers.
• Obtains meal selections from patients, offering menu alternatives as permitted on diet, considering food allergies/intolerances, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences. Delivers meals and nourishments, rounds after meals, and retrieves trays from rooms.
• Completes weekly food service patient satisfaction surveys on assigned unit. Responds to patient and nursing requests through zone phone availability. Communicates complaints or special needs to appropriate manager.
