ThePantherDining Hallat Georgia State University is seeking to hire a part-time Catering Assistant/Driver (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position will assist with food and beverage preparation under the direction of the Catering Chef.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensure all tableware and chafing dishes are properly cleaned and sanitized before each catering event.
  • Packs equipment and supplies in a timely and organized manner and leads the team to do the same.
  • Maintains knowledge and trains in proper packing and transport techniques for both hot and cold foods.
  • Set up event spaces, including tables, linens, buffet stations, and décor according to event specifications.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist and support event packing-out, transporting, loading and unloading catering supplies and equipment.
  • Support post-event breakdown, cleanup, and inventory tasks.
  • Operates catering vehicles both on and off campus.
  • Completes temperature logs.
  • Support post-event breakdown, cleanup, and inventory tasks.
  • Ensure all equipment is delivered and properly stored after each event.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and food handling procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of catering-related storage areas.
  • Oversees inventory of all related goods, including linen, décor, service ware, and disposable goods on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinates all supply orders with the Catering Manager and ensures consistent stock of all necessary goods.
  • Maintains equipment and coordinates repair with the Catering Manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and clients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
  • A valid driver's license.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Must have valid GA Driver's License.
  • Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
