Job Listing: Catering Sales Coordinator (Commission-Based - 1099 Contractor)

Plate Italiano Moderno offers modern Italian cuisine with an emphasis on guest relations. We are known for our exceptional food, outstanding service, and memorable private events in the Kansas City and Leawood areas. We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Catering Sales Coordinator to drive significant revenue growth by independently securing new catering business and cultivating strong client relationships. This is a commission-based position, offering substantial earning potential for a self-driven and experienced sales professional with a deep passion for the hospitality industry.

  • Location:** Kansas City, Missouri
  • Compensation:** Commission-Based (1099 Contractor)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute proactive and independent sales strategies to aggressively acquire new catering and event business.
  • Take full ownership of identifying, prospecting, and securing new client relationships through various channels, including networking, cold outreach, and B2B sales.
  • Act as a primary point of contact, building rapport and trust with prospective clients to understand their unique needs and objectives.
  • Independently create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that effectively showcase our catering services and value proposition.
  • Collaborate strategically with our culinary and operations teams to ensure flawless execution of all catered events, maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Proactively build and maintain a robust network of contacts within the event planning, corporate, and social sectors in the surrounding area.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the catering and event landscape.
  • Represent Plate Italiano Moderno with professionalism and enthusiasm at industry events, networking functions, and meetings.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed ambitious monthly and annual sales targets.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of proven success in a direct sales role within the catering, event planning, or hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently generate leads, build a client base, and close deals.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong executive presence.
  • Outstanding negotiation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in an independent, commission-based environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • A deep passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.

Training

  • **Paid training** will be provided to immerse the successful candidate in our company culture, catering offerings, operational processes, and sales methodologies. The specific duration and terms of this paid training will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Upon successful completion of the paid training period, this role will transition to a **1099, commission-only contractor** position.
  • An established and transferable network of corporate and social event contacts in the Kansas City area.
  • A strong understanding of local market dynamics and catering trends.
  • Formal education in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
