Job summary

Valmet seeks a Category Purchaser for Castings & Forgings to lead global spare parts procurement. You will drive supplier negotiations and develop cost-saving strategies across Pulp, Energy & Circularity, Packaging and Tissue sectors.

Based in Beloit, WI or Bedford, NH, the role requires engineering education and 2–5 years in sourcing within international operations. Strong analytical skills and English fluency are essential, with ERP experience (Infor LN) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• 2-5 years’ experience in Category Management or Sourcing in the industrial sector in international organizations.
• Experience in Engineering.
• Excellent analytical skills & ability to run with swift & fact-based decisions.
• Strong influencing and negotiations skills with demonstrated ability to achieve results in a global matrix organization.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office environment.
• Experience operating in ERP Systems (Infor LN is preferable).
• Fluent in English.
• High level of commitment and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities for assigned categories and suppliers, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Lead annual price negotiations and maintain pricing and item data in ERP and related systems.
• Define and implement supply strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including supplier quality and logistics.
• Drive long-term cost reduction initiatives and support CCC sourcing.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance in areas such as delivery reliability, quality, innovation, and lead times.
• Support sales and cost estimation with sourcing insights.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and contractual standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends and actively identify and evaluate new suppliers.
• Oversee inventory levels to support healthy net working capital and operational efficiency.
