Job summary

Brookdale is seeking a procurement professional to optimize spend across multiple categories, lead cost-saving projects, and manage vendor relationships. You will analyze data, negotiate terms, and ensure contracts meet service goals.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in construction management or supply chain and 5–7 years of experience, with strong Excel/MS Office skills and professional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Supply Chain plus 5–7 years of related experience.
  • ISM membership, CPM and CPIM preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cost savings projects across HR, Finance, Tax, Audit, and Risk.
  • Analyze spend data and recommend strategic pricing plans.
  • Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate contractors and vendors for quality and cost.
  • Monitor market conditions and prepare analysis reports.
  • Coordinate with national vendors to optimize shipping points and costs.
  • Track contract expirations and renewals; negotiate national and local agreements.
  • Lead strategic sourcing RFPs and drive continuous improvement.

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Full-time associates in role are also eligible for an annual bonus incentive. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Responsibilities

Will be responsible for achieving cost reductions in the total cost of goods and services, increasing vendor compliance, ensuring compliant bidders are utilized, oversee medium to large construction projects bidding, and will have responsibility for improving quality and vendor service levels.

  • Design and implement cost savings projects across multiple sub-categories including HR, Finance, Tax, Audit, and Risk Management.
  • Analyze spend data across Brookdale and recommend strategic plan to leverage pricing.
  • Develops, communicates and maintains purchasing maintenance equipment policy and procedures.
  • Evaluates and selects outside contractors and vendors who can provide quality products and services at the lowest possible prices, ensuring availability when needed.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports.
  • Coordinates with national vendors to determine optimal ship points based on freight costs and usage forecast.
  • Track contract expiration and renewal.
  • Negotiate and implement local, regional and national agreements to support the savings and service goals of the procurement team.
  • Identifies and leads Strategic Sourcing RFPs.
  • Resolves community complaints and solve on-going issues to help drive continuous improvement for Brookdale.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably Construction Management and/or Supply Chain degree. Five to seven years related experience and training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, And Other Special Requirements

ISM membership, CPM and CPIM preferred

Strong analytical background-proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word. Project Management and Distinctive leadership, willing to make tough decisions, but well respects by internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable with conflict, willingness to challenge conventional thinking. Proven success sourcing facilities categories for a national, multi-location organization including: managing RFPs, vendor relationships, contract compliance, etc.
