Job Title: Category Manager, Plant Services

My client, a global leading chemical manufacturing company in the Baltimore, MD area (Ellicott City), is seeking a Category Manager for Plant Services.

Position Summary

This role, reporting to the Director of Global Indirect Sourcing, leads strategies for plant services across 20+ manufacturing sites. With an annual spend of $165M, the portfolio includes MHE and industrial contractors (general, electrical, mechanical, ISP, etc.). The goal is to deliver cost savings, ensure supply reliability, and manage risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with suppliers and site leaders
• Lead negotiations and manage supplier performance
• Develop and execute category strategies using market data and stakeholder input
• Drive cost reduction, avoidance, and cash preservation
• Utilize SAP Ariba and Analytics Cloud for sourcing, contracting, and reporting
• Support procurement and operations leadership with key initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in sourcing within manufacturing
• Proven ability to manage complex sourcing strategies and supplier relationships
• Strong negotiation, Excel, and data analysis skills
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Salesforce
• Project management skills and supply chain certifications

• Compensation: Base salary $140-155k + 15% bonus
