Job summary

Medtronic’s Minneapolis-based Category Management Specialist will shape and execute category strategies across a global supplier base, driving cost savings and inflation management. The role partners with cross-functional teams to lead negotiations and optimize supplier performance while ensuring continuity of supply and quality across the enterprise.

You will develop and implement category plans, support RFx activities, and translate market intelligence into actionable sourcing strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain plus a minimum of 2 years of sourcing experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Support supplier relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Translate category strategies into actionable plans.
• Monitor market trends and convert insights into sourcing strategies.
• Negotiate price changes and tariffs to limit inflation.
• Prepare RFx packages and negotiation strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
• Identify risks and ensure regulatory and quality compliance.
