A leading specialty chemicals company in Houston, Texas, is hiring a strategic sourcing leader to develop and lead sourcing strategies for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) categories. You will negotiate complex contracts, manage supplier performance, and collaborate with the engineering team while ensuring alignment with sustainability goals. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in chemicals or manufacturing. This role offers a competitive salary and career growth potential.

$125,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategic sourcing strategies for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) categories
• Negotiate complex, high-value contracts that balance cost efficiency, reliability, and innovation
• Manage supplier performance and build long-term partnerships aligned with Verdant's project and operational goals
• Partner with Engineering to advance capital projects through FEL stage gates by driving supplier strategy, cost optimization, and contract execution
• Collaborate globally to align category strategies with business priorities and sustainability objectives
• Stay ahead of market trends, feedstock dynamics, and regulatory shifts across the specialty chemical and energy sectors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, ideally in chemicals, oil & gas, or manufacturing
• Strong contract negotiation and financial analysis skills
• Experience using SAP, BI tools, and Excel for data-driven decision-making
• A proactive, self-directed leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
