Job summary

Vizient, Inc. in Irving, TX, is seeking a role focused on managing a portfolio of medical/surgical agreements and shaping contracting strategies to reduce costs and improve access to vital products for hospitals and health systems.

You will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value and efficiency in healthcare sourcing. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience, healthcare and supply chain operations preferred.
• Experience with RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management preferred.
• Excellent MS Office and written/verbal communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high complexity portfolio of medical and surgical agreements.
• Conduct product and market assessments and market research for assigned categories.
• Develop contracting strategies to deliver value for members, supply networks, academic medical centers, and non-healthcare markets.
• Manage the competitive bid process by negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
• Implement new programmatic offerings while maintaining knowledge of healthcare industry and market dynamics.
• Develop and manage relationships with members, suppliers, and alliances for satisfaction and issue resolution.
• Navigate market volatility and supply disruptions to deliver portfolio performance and meet member needs.
• Co-Chair for the Respiratory, Critical Care, Anesthesia council.

Summary

In this role, you will be managing a portfolio of products, shaping contracting strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and leading negotiations to reduce costs, boost efficiency, and ensure reliable access to products that advance patient care. Your work will help hospitals and health systems secure these vital products while optimizing costs and supply chain performance. • Develop contracting strategies that will deliver unique value to support individual members, supply networks, academic medical centers as well as customers and clients in non-health care markets.
• Manage the competitive bid process by negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
• Implement new programmatic offerings while maintaining practical knowledge of the health care industry, market dynamics and new technology.
• Develop and manage relationships with members, suppliers, and alliances to ensure satisfaction through effective, timely communication and problem resolution.
• Effectively navigate market volatility and supply disruptions to consistently deliver portfolio performance and meet member needs.
• Co-Chair for the Respiratory, Critical Care, Anesthesia council.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 2 or more years of relevant experience required. Healthcare and supply chain operations preferred.
• Financially savvy with working with expense and revenue budgets preferred.
• Effective communicator with the ability to develop and present insights, reports, and collateral to diverse audiences.
• Experience with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management strongly preferred.
• Excellent Microsoft Office and Outlook skills as well as written communication and verbal presentation skills preferred.
• Based in Irving, TX, this hybrid role includes three days per week in the office.
• Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $135,400.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
