Onward Search is seeking a Category Manager for Global Real Estate & Construction Procurement. This contract role supports strategic sourcing for a diverse global property portfolio.

The position requires leadership in international capital projects, RFIs and RFQs, and supplier contract negotiations, with a hybrid work arrangement in NY and Charlotte, NC. A decade of experience in procurement and a related bachelor’s degree are expected.

A leading organization in the real estate and construction industry is hiring a Category Manager, Global Real Estate & Construction Procurement. This temp role supports strategic sourcing and procurement for a diverse global property portfolio.

Location: NYO AND Charlotte- NC (Hybrid)

Duration: 2+ Years contract

Category Manager Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive global sourcing strategies across various real estate and workplace services.
• Lead procurement processes for international capital projects, managing RFIs, RFQs, and bid evaluations.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts related to design, construction, and consulting services.
• Maintain relationships with key suppliers, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support project teams throughout all phases of capital projects, ensuring procurement aligns with project goals.

Category Manager Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or Engineering.
• Over 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with at least 5 years supporting corporate real estate or construction programs.
• Proven success in managing complex RFPs and global sourcing initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills, financial acumen, and contract management expertise.
• Proficiency with procurement and sourcing technology platforms such as Zip, Ariba, or comparable systems.
