Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage the customer relations, purchasing, and financial management functions for a defined product category. You will coordinate buying, selling, and merchandising with vendors to maximize profits and customer satisfaction, while maintaining optimal inventory and escalating issues as needed.

The role interfaces with customers, vendors, management, warehouse staff, and multiple accounting and purchasing teams.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED with experience in foodservice distribution and purchasing.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in business, marketing, or related area.
• Experience in foodservice distribution and purchasing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customers' needs and monitor stock variances.
• Negotiate buy brackets, inbound freight rates, backhaul dollars, and supplier terms.
• Ensure costing and pricing accuracy and assist in supplier bill backs and transfers.
• Coordinate buying, selling, and merchandising efforts with vendors and customers.
• Lead and train buyers across facilities and handle escalated issues as needed.
• Comply with all company policies and standards.
