The Category Insights Manager will support Sales Managers by monitoring, Analyzing, and summarizing category and brand performance. Looking for risk and opportunities for the business. This person will also work with the Marketing team to understand shopper behavior and demographics. Utilizing data to become a trusted advisor to our retailer partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analytics:
Utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior.
Generate actionable insights from data analysis, identifying opportunities for sales growth and process optimization.
Develop predictive models and forecasting methods to anticipate market trends and customer demands.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data analytics into sales strategies and decision-making processes.
Work with Sales Managers to build data driven sales presentations
Collaborate with our retailer partners utilizing data to become a trusted partner and build our relationship
Market Research and Strategy:
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Collaborate with product development teams to align offerings with customer preferences and market demands.
Develop pricing strategies and promotional activities based on market research and data analysis.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations to senior leadership, summarizing sales performance, market analysis, and data-driven insights.
Communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
Track, analyze, and report category, brand, and item performance to team
Work with several smaller retailers to gain an understanding of how data is being utilized by the Sales Managers
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sales, research, or data analytics roles, preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Strong background in utilizing data analytics tools (such as SQL, Tableau, or similar) to extract insights from large datasets.
Experience with SPINS, Nielsen, Circana or other syndicated retail data sources is required
Proficient in reporting tools in Microsoft or Google
Firm understanding of marketing principles
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in market research methodologies and competitive analysis.

Reporting Relationship: This role will report to the Head of Sales
Location: Remote, mid-west. Up to 20% travel as required
Compensation details: 75000-90000 Yearly Salary
