Job description

Position Summary
The Category Insights Analyst’s primary function is to utilize third-party data resources to uncover, synthesize, and communicate market and brand insights to Terlato Sales and Marketing teams. The Category Insights Analyst is responsible for consistently mining insights with respect to Terlato’s corporate brand strategy, and to provide actionable intelligence to support Terlato brands’ distribution development on a national, regional, and market level. This position requires a person to have a deep understanding of the greater Beverage Alcohol marketplace and to create selling stories from data to make a positive impact on sales (with specific focus on National Accounts). In addition, the Category Insights Analyst manages the relationships with our third-party data partners. This role sits within Terlato’s Center of Excellence team, which is responsible for providing the greater Sales and Marketing organization with selling tools to support their daily activities.
Position Responsibilities
• Possesses expert level knowledge of all third-party data resource tools, mechanics, and the types of insights that can be derived from them.
? Resources include, but are not limited to: Nielsen IQ: Discover, SipSource, Somm.ai, etc.
• Focuses research and selling story development across the Terlato portfolio with keen focus on National Accounts.
• Performs regular competitive research to stay on top of industry trends and create compelling selling stories for our brands compared to competitors in the same category.
• Executes deep dives on priority brands, markets, price points, competitive sets, categories, etc. to provide high-level insights to Terlato Leadership, Brand and Sales teams.
• Works closely with their cross-functional counterparts to develop a deep understanding of our brands, their strategic direction, and overall brand programming to give the proper context necessary to provide actionable data insights.
• Utilizes third-party data resources to educate internal sales and brand teams on specific insights within a category, competitive set, price point, varietal, etc. that can be actioned in the market to drive growth and secure new distribution supporting annual goal achievement.
• Leverages third-party data resource visualization tools, excel based scorecards, and power point to masterfully communicate findings with Terlato Leadership, Sales and Marketing teams.
? Presents findings succinctly in-person and via Zoom.
• Thinks creatively in exploring the data available to craft compelling selling stories that Sales and Brand can utilize in market and with our distributor partners to drive distribution.
• Owns the development and monthly publication of scorecards designed to measure performance against key objectives and out annual goals.

Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years' experience in a corporate business/financial analyst role preferred
• Ability to clearly synthesize and analyze data from a variety of internal and external data sources
• Advanced knowledge of Nielsen
• Advanced knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions
• Moderate experience/knowledge of the Wine and Spirits industry & National Accounts

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $92,000.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, length of service, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
