Beazley seeks a Catastrophe Analyst to join our Exposure Management and Risk Management teams in Atlanta. You will support underwriting operations through catastrophe modelling, risk pricing, data management, and portfolio analysis to deliver actionable insights for risk assessment.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of insurance experience, strong analytical skills, and excellent Excel and Access capabilities, with solid written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in insurance (preferably commercial property).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and Access.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with catastrophe modelling and exposure data requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Cleanse and validate exposure and location data for catastrophe modelling.
  • Manage data transfers with external service providers and FTP processes.
  • Obtain and verify high-quality geocoding for insured risks.
  • Support underwriters during quoting and risk assessment.
  • Perform quality control checks on catastrophe modelling data.
  • Collaborate with Property Underwriting and Exposure Management teams.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analyses to support business needs.
  • Deliver professional service and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Catastrophe Analyst to join their Exposure Management and Risk Management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented insurance professional with catastrophe modelling experience to support underwriting operations and contribute to effective risk assessment and exposure management.

The Opportunity

As a Catastrophe Analyst, you will work closely with underwriting and exposure management teams, providing technical support through catastrophe modelling, risk pricing, exposure data management, and portfolio analysis. You will play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy and delivering actionable insights to support underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanse, validate, and import exposure and location data into catastrophe modelling platforms.
  • Manage data transfers with external service providers and maintain relevant FTP processes.
  • Obtain and verify the highest quality geocoding available for insured risks.
  • Support underwriters and underwriting assistants during the quoting process.
  • Perform quality control checks on catastrophe modelling data.
  • Collaborate with Property Underwriting and Exposure Management teams.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analysis to support business needs.
  • Deliver professional service and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
What We're Looking For

  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Access.

  • Insurance industry experience, ideally within Excess & Surplus Lines.
