Job summary

Johnson Matthey, Inc. in Wayne, PA seeks a SCAT Engineer (II) to design new test methods, evaluate testing, and troubleshoot advanced analytical equipment in support of Clean Air teams.

You will lead instrument designs, install corrective measures, and guide safety analysis and testing protocols while collaborating with SCAT and quality labs to ensure catalyst performance meets customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 2 years of related work experience is required.
• Experience with FTIR, mass flow controllers, and SPC tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design new test methods, evaluate complex testing, and troubleshoot advanced analytical equipment.
• Perform routine and non-routine testing to characterize catalytic materials.
• Provide direct support with Clean Air and Clean Air Solution teams to meet customer requirements.
• Support SCAT team and coach in multiple testing areas in the lab.
• Guide senior staff with best practice testing protocols for lab and equipment.
• Provide technical expertise to quality labs.
• Lead instrument designs including data acquisition and control systems.
• Install corrective engineering measures and full testing protocols for safety systems.
• Lead all Job Safety Analysis activities for CAPEX projects and ensure completion to maintain budgets.
